'Team Sonko' takes an unprecedented early lead in KICOSCA games
KICOSCA reigning champions, Nairobi City County Government took an unprecedented earlier lead on day three by bagging home nine gold and a silver in the concluded ten disciplines played at Machakos Teacher's Training College and Machakos Stadium respectively.
The all time champions, struck its first gold in Table Tennis and the second one coming slightly three hours later after the Squash team defeated Nyeri County team 6-1..
The Nairobi team captained by Peter Oriaro and Grace Wangechi continued to show its mighty when the Basketball team beat Kisumu 40-6 in a match which the "Sonko team" controlled from the start to the finish.

The Nairobi County Netball team applied acumen perception to thrash Kisumu County, thus retaining the trophy for the second year running.
The Tug of War Men team clinched its gold by punishing Laikipia County 2-0 while the Ladies team beat Nakuru with the same margin. The County team which has received an overwhelming support from Governor Mike Sonko won other gold in Badminton, Chess, and Darts categories. The Draft team settled for a silver medal.
Speaking on the sidelines at Machakos Teachers Training College, Ag County Chief Officer Education, Youth and Social Services, Ruth Owuor said that the team is set to do better than last year owing to the fact that the overall team had prepared well for the tournament, adding, "Governor Mike Sonko has also reignited the team's morale by his total support which the team truly appreciates."
