It is fake news, we are here to serve and support the Governor, says ministers

Nairobi City County Executive Committee Members have refuted a statement doing the rounds on social media purporting that they have threatened to resign allegedly over interference in their work by non-members of staff of the county.

Terming the statement as untrue and a figment of fertile imagination from unknown sources, the County executives stated that they remain steadfast in their commitment to serve the people of Nairobi and to support Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko in his vision to transform the lives of city residents. 

FAKEThe letter which is going round the social media and purported to have been issued by County Executive Committee Members who have since dismissed it as fake and intended to portray the County leadership as unstable.

In a strongly worded statement signed by the 10 ministers, the County executives dismissed the statement as fake and added that the agenda of the statement is clearly to portray the Nairobi County leadership as unstable.


County Executive Committee Member Health Dr Hitan C Majevda signs a statement in which the 10 County Executive Members denied threatening to resign and affirmed their total support for Governor Sonko in his quest to serve the residents of the city. 

"We hereby categorically state that this statement is not true. This is fake and malicious news which should be dismissed with the contempt it deserves, said the 10 CEC Members in their statement dated 15th February 2018.
